Best Places To Go in Thailand?

Hello there, I am going to go Thailand in January - Feburary. I want to see a few things while i'm out there and make the most of my visit. I'm already thinking of going to Bangkok, (for the city life), Ko Phangan (for the full moon party) and Ko Samui. However, I want to see the typical Thai culture, temples, buddist monks and the jungle life. Is there anywhere that includes all of this that is not too far away from the mentioned areas?
