Only Whites are the real Americans?

LOL i think this is funny, why do people from other countries only think white people are the real americans. i have been to mexico, brazil, south korea, thailand, and china and they only called white people americans but everyone else was "black" or "chinese" even if they were from america. i think it's pretty funny though and i did feel a lot safer knowing people did not consider me american even though i was born here because right now the US does not have a good reputation outside.
