What is the weather like in Thailand in July?

I've heard there are monsoons but are these regular as in every day or every few days? And does it rain for most of the day or does it mainly rain at night or in the afternoon? Is there any kind of pattern? I'll be travelling all over Thailand. Also does the temperature drop much when it rains? Thanks.
